Learn exciting new clay sculpting skills and make an inviting home to bring precious native bees to your garden.
Bees are amongst the most important creatures on earth. These amazing insects pollinate over 80% of all flowering plants – including 70 of the top 100 human food crops. 1 in 3 bites of food that we eat comes from plants pollinated by bees.
You don’t need any experience to enjoy this workshop, as your experienced tutor will give you step-by-step introductions on how to create your very own bee hotel. As you get to work building your bee hotel, you’ll learn a range of fun new skills. You’ll then get to decorate your creation using a technique called inlay clay. Once you hang your bee hotel safely in your garden, porch or outdoor space, your bee hotel will attract solitary native bees, including Blue Banded and Leaf Cutter Bees. We’ll give you an info sheet at the end of the day to teach you how to attract and care for your new bee friends.
Your bee hotel will be fired and ready to collect approximately 4 weeks after the workshop.
