Anna Pogossova | Jerico Contemporary

Jerico Contemporary is pleased to present Anna Pogossova ‘X (Satellite)’. The solo exhibition opens on March 21st and will continue through April 13th, 2019.

‘X (Satellite)’ explores the hidden mythologies of objects. In creating an artificial world using recognisable images from popular culture, Pogossova creates otherworldly objects that transcend time. Inspired by science fiction and cinematic techniques, for this exhibition the artist splices together two diverse concepts - space and the baroque and maps out a hypothetical future. Resulting in a romanticised visualisation of space, the use of recognisable but seemingly unrelated iconographies that reconfigures the mode of reception and underlines the experience of seeing itself.

Anna Pogossova was born in 1984 in Moscow, Russia. The artist currently lives and works in Sydney, Australia.

Join us for the opening reception on Thursday 21st of March from 6pm - 8pm.
