JOIN Collective Clothes

Join us for a practical collaborative workshop that introduces the JOIN Collective Clothes modular clothing system. This full day workshop in the UTS School of Design is led by Dutch fashion designer Anouk Beckers, along with expertise from UTS Fashion and Textiles staff, and welcomes people of all abilities and experience to take part. The workshop includes all materials and tools (though you are welcome to bring your own!) and light lunch.

JOIN Collective Clothes is a project by Anouk Beckers in which fashion is explored as a collective practice, focusing on making and wearing clothes together. The essential tool of the project is an open source modular system that consists of four different shapes: top (J), sleeve, (O), trouser leg (I), or part of a skirt (N). Through the workshop, everyone is invited to design and make a single piece of a garment. Together, the pieces made by various makers create a whole outfit. The garments made in the workshop will be shown at part of Fit For Purpose at UTS Gallery.
