Transplant is an exhibition curated by Alex Gawronski in conjunction with KNULP, an independent artist space in Camperdown, Sydney. The exhibition will take place over SCA and KNULP galleries simultaneously. Each participating artist, including the four members of KNULP, will produce two works, one for the larger SCA gallery and a second for KNULP, a smaller urban space nearby. The local, interstate and international artists participating in this project represent a diverse and highly accomplished group. Each has been chosen for their ability to conceptualise art as a profoundly spatial undertaking. As the exhibition title suggests, the exhibition broadly considers what it means to move from one place to another, or to be moved, or to be housed in another space, to be de-sited and nomadic, or possibly even lost. The amplitude of such questions is only magnified in present 'uncertain times'.
